Lunch With League
Learn about issues and hot-button topics directly from officials and experts at Lunch With League the second Tuesday of every month in the Manhattan Public Library second floor auditorium. Lunch With League presentations are open to the public. Box lunches are available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at noon and lasts until 1 p.m. Watch for announcements regarding the topics and speakers on the league's home page, in the local newspaper, The Voter (the local league's official newsletter) or by e-mail
.

Brown Bag
Brown Bag is an informal discussion about issues and topics and often features experts and officials. Brown Bag is on the fourth Tuesday each month, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the second floor meeting room of the Riley County office building at 110 Courthouse Plaza. Please bring your own lunch. Watch for announcements regarding the topics and speakers on the home page of the league's web site, in the local newspaper, The Voter (the local league's official newsletter) or by e-mail.

LWV MRC Annual Meeting
The local league's annual business meeting is in April. During the meeting league members adopt a budget and program for the year as well as elect officers. These meetings have often featured a speaker and usually include a dinner or luncheon. Members will be notified by mail and e-mail about the time, place and agenda for the Annual Meeting.

Forums
The league sponsors two kinds of educational forums: issue forums and candidate forums. The league may present a panel of speakers to explore an issue of local, state or national significance. The league also customarily conducts candidate forums prior to local, state and national elections as part of a voter service initiative. The league normally advertises these forums on the home page of the league's web site, in the local newspaper, on the weather channel, in The Voter (the local league's official newsletter) and by e-mail.

Social Events
The league presents the Edith Stunkel Good Government Award annually to a person who has devoted considerable time and energy to successfully promoting better government or whose leadership has advanced human dignity or improved the quality of life for the community. READ MORE AND VIEW LIST OF PAST RECIPIENTS Additionally, the league plays host for informal gatherings for new members and for members who wish to discuss local issues in an informal setting.

LWVK Convention and Council The state league convention, the state league business meeting when officers are elected and the state league program is adopted, is every odd-numbered year in April. The state league council, every even-numbered year in April, features speakers on state government issues and includes a business session.

League Day at the Capitol
The state league also plays host for the League Day at the Capitol each spring. Members from across the state come to Topeka to meet with legislators and hear speakers talk about state issues.

League of Women Voters National Convention and Council
The national league convenes its national convention every even numbered years and its national council every odd numbered years in June. See www.lwv.org for details.
